Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, UCLA Health Sciences/CEO of UCLA Health and Senior Vice President of Compliance and Audit, Office of the President this position is responsible for the strategic leadership, direction and adherence to the compliance program for the UCLA Health System and the David Geffen School of Medicine, including general compliance and privacy.
In an effort to further our mission of providing quality research, teaching and health care while at the same time advancing the prevention of fraud, abuse and waste in the UCLA academic health sciences setting, a corporate compliance program has been adopted and implemented. The CCO will facilitate leadership, direction and accountability for the Corporate Compliance Program for UCLA Health. This includes but is not limited to the UCLA Health System Compliance Program, including the four hospitals, more than 250 clinics plus the faculty practice group, and the School of Medicine. The CCO will work collaboratively with leaders across the organization to identify, assess and resolve compliance and privacy issues, including coordinating and leading any projects or policy redesigns to accomplish compliance with relevant laws, statutes and regulations applicable to UCLA Health.
Along with the Office of Compliance Services professional and administrative staff, the Chief Privacy Officer also reports to the Chief Compliance Officer and as such the incumbent has oversight responsibilities for directing all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy of and access to patient health information in compliance with federal and state laws and the healthcare organization’s information privacy practices.
The University of California, Los Angeles is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is $176,700 to $473,100.
