Sparks Group is looking for a Marketing and Communications Associate to join a national Association headquartered in Washington, DC. The Marketing and Communications Associate is responsible for planning and execution of a broad cross-section of projects, including continuing education program marketing and promotion and corporate communication initiatives. Efforts to accomplish this include implementing a robust direct marketing effort, strengthening social media presence, and building public awareness. The successful candidate is a curious, energetic, and quick learner who takes initiative within the direction provided. They have a talent for wordsmithing fresh, inviting, and impactful marketing copy in a timely manner.
Marketing and Communications Associate Responsibilities:
Collaborating with continuing education team, market and promote continuing education programs using a variety of outreach tools, including print, email, website, and social media.
Serve as primary point of contact for external marketing resources related to the development of continuing education and other creative collateral.
Support execution of corporate communication strategy initiatives using print, email, website, and social media.
Coordinate content and produce Cut to the Point, monthly e-bulletin, and additional e-bulletins, as necessary.
Coordinate internal reservations for allowed advertisements in journal; work with external marketing resource to create and submit advertisements on schedule.
Add and edit content on the website.
Manage image and video library; work with and use available assets to best advantage in social media and digital marketing.
Serve as the staff liaison for the Public Outreach Committee, including maintaining the online library, triaging public relations-related inquiries, organizing, and participating in committee meetings and conference calls, and maintaining committee-related records.
Monitor budgets related to all aspects of serving as marketing specialist.
Provide general support for the chief executive officer, officers, committee chairs, and other staff members.
Marketing and Communications Associate Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required. A degree or concentration in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field is highly desirable.
A minimum of four years employment with an association in marketing, communications, and website maintenance.
Marketing plan development and implementation and materials production.
Social media presence execution and analysis.
Top-notch writing skills, including proofing and editing.
Excellent oral communication.
Project administration, including coordinating multiple programs simultaneously, timeline and budget monitoring, and status reporting.
Marketing plan development and implementation.
Print media production.
Website content management.
Working knowledge of WordPress.
Proven experience in traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.
Technical ability to post on all social media platforms.
Working knowledge of Constant Contact or similar email marketing program.
Above average proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and deadline-driven.
