Job Abstract

Key Role

Leverage expertise in medical payment policy, quality and performance measurement, alternative payment models, and healthcare finance. Advise clients and lead teams in the design and execution of methodologies to evaluate health care payment reform initiatives, including episode-based alternative payment models and population based payment models. Lead and grow a team of analysts with the responsibility to perform advanced analyses and studies of health care claims data.

Basic Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience using quantitative methods to answer health care policy and programmatic questions 

• Experience leading in the development and implementation of statistical models

• Experience with common statistical software packages

• Experience analyzing health data, including healthcare claims, health records, and provider data

• Experience working with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) programs, including alternative payment models

• Knowledge of health insurance payment processes, risk adjustment, and pricing methodologies

• Knowledge of various CMS environments and systems, including Integrated Data Repository (IDR) and Chronic Conditions Warehouse (CCW)

• Ability to lead creation of technical documentation for complex health care finance projects and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences to explain complex methodologies and present findings and recommendations

• Public Trust

• Master’s degree in a Quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or Statistics

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with the federal procurement and proposal process

• Knowledge of the U.S. health care finance system and payment policy issues impacting the U.S. health care system

• Ability to manage staff and oversee complex projects and analytic tasks 

• Doctorate degree preferred
