Job Description:
The Quality Technician position will support all areas of Quality including Inspection, MFG Engineering, and Quality Assurance reporting to the Quality Manager. In the position key responsibilities will include the daily processing of piece parts, COTS items and inspection records (end item data packages for all incoming products). Additional duties include in-process inspection and calibration processing (recall, record retention, and updating the calibration database. The inspector will also document all product non[1]conformances. This position may also participate during internal audits (as an auditor) and will support design engineering as needed.
Essential Functions:
• Expert knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Know how to operate Brown and Sharpe CMM (coordinate measuring machine)
• Extensive experience with handheld inspection tools; calipers, micrometer, pin
gages, thickness gages etc.
Qualifications:
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior
relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum
of 4 years of prior related experience.
• 2+ years of experience working with the requirements of AS9100 or ISO9001 and ability to
conduct audits.
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Experience in heavily regulated industry is required (Aerospace, Space, Medical
and / or Defense industry experience is preferred).
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong communication with QA Manager
• Proficient in SAP (MRP system)
• Ability to hold your ground in the face of strong program management insistence.
