Medina Hospital’s state-of-the-art clinical laboratory is a full-service laboratory equipped to perform testing which spans the major disciplines of laboratory medicine. This laboratory provides rapid, accurate, and meaningful data for optimum patient care. As a Pre-Analytics Lab Supervisor, you will supervise the pre-analytic laboratory operations and be responsible for all employment-related activities, schedules, budgets, fiscal performance and adherence to quality and safety guidelines. You’ll provide mentorship, leadership, and supervision to a team of Phlebotomy Technicians, Laboratory Technicians and other clinical caregivers to ensure that all specimens are handled in a timely, accurate and safe manner.

This is a 100% onsite position at Medina Hospital. You will be required to travel 1x/month to Main Campus for a meeting and 1x/month to another hospital location for a meeting.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for all employment related activities, budgets, fiscal performance and adherence to quality and safety guidelines.
- Supervises and develops a high performing, customer oriented team.
- (OR) Provides leadership and supports staff to perform quality work as outlined by department and Cleveland Clinic policies.
- Reviews and ensures the timeliness, accuracy and quality of work.
- Ensures proper staffing levels, workflow and ensures efficient utilization of resources.
- Conducts competency assessments and performance appraisals and maintains appropriate documentation.
- Reviews/approves department schedules, paid time off and leave requests.
- Coordinates hiring, orientation, scheduling and staff development including continuing education initiatives.
- Assist with policy and procedure development; ensures compliance.
- Identifies and implements opportunities to improve procedures, processes, speed, quality and effectiveness.
- Assists with annual operating and capital budgets.
- Communicates critical issues to senior management and/or Medical Director
- Encourages and supports morale building activities and positive attitudes.
- Communicates effectively with employees and other departments.
- Leads and implements large process improvement projects.
