Thousand Oaks Toyota is hiring experienced Service Advisors with competitive pay plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
• Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.
• Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
• Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.
• Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
• Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.
• Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned by entering customer information into system database.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.
• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Test-driving vehicles to confirm service repairs.
• Must follow all company and common-sense safety practices

Knowledge / Technical Skills: Duties require a demonstrated knowledge of the automotive industry and excellent customer service skills. Demonstrated organizational abilities, strong leadership skills, and detailed oriented. Computer knowledge, self-control to manage escalated situations with customers and professional verbal and written communication skills; Understanding of principles and practices of the organization, planning, records management and general administration. Dependability, adaptability and confidentiality are necessary attributes.
Customer Service Skills: Politeness, confidence, tact, patience and diplomacy while dealing with complex and confidential situations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively across all levels of the business organization are necessary. Problem solving skills; Ability to maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all members and customers. Meet deadlines and execute high level of project management and independent decision-making skills.
