Position Summary Information
Summary
Assists in digital imaging, scheduling and producing black and white or color production on fullserviceorders, including finishing services and large job management. The Technician’s time will be spenttaking orders, providing pricing information, producing complex orders, operating equipment and deliveringcompleted print orders. This is a temporary position. The maximum hours per week will be 29 hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Utilize consultative skills to anticipate needs, suggest alternatives and provide solutions to colleagues and customers.
Collates, sorts and organizes customer orders.
Coordinates pick-up and delivery of customer orders.
Responsible for ensuring quality during and after production process.
Ensure University standards of corporate identity and branding are maintained.
Sets up complex orders and performs multiple tasks at the same time.
Takes responsibility for digital imaging, scheduling and running black and white or color production on full-service orders, including finishing services and large job management.
Takes customer orders, giving pricing information, performs consultative communication to customers, and recommends products and services, tracks and logs all production jobs.
Demonstrates consultative behaviors to ensure friendly, polite, expert service is delivered to every customer.
Manages production flow to ensure all production orders are done right and on time.
Operate production machines and document finishing equipment, including, but not limited to, copiers, bindery equipment, cutters and laminators.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Demonstrated skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
A thorough knowledge of: Business English and arithmetic, general office methods, procedures and practices.
Demonstrated ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
Strong organizational and problem resolution abilities.
Ability to relate positively and effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, and meet a variety of deadlines.
Experience with document finishing equipment (such as cutters, bindery equipment and laminators etc.)
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. WORKENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the customer service environment.
