The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will be responsible for developing and updating production work instructions that relate to the safe, high quality and efficient manufacture of products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Develops work instructions following standard format.
- Distributes completed work instructions for approval and follows up to obtain approvals in a timely manner, making any corrections as deemed necessary.
- Uploads approved work instructions to the company Intranet System.
- Updates Work Instructions as required per Engineering Changes (EN’s) or process changes.
- Participates in team-based process improvement activities: 5S, kaizen, Lean Manufacturing practices, cost reduction, etc.
- Design tools, fixtures and racks for holding components during electroplated, NLN or PVD Processes.
- Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Educations and/or Experience
- Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Student in higher education program.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work individually and as a team
- Ability to work with diverse and cross functional teams
Computer Skills
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience working with CREO is a plus
Language Skills
- English (reading, writing, verbal)
- Spanish (verbal) is a plus
Mathematical Skills
Other Skills
- Ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer or telephone equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision and ability to adjust focus. Able to sit or stand for frequent periods in the same location with some opportunity for movement. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment or enclosed office space; and can be exposed to a warehouse/production environment on a frequent basis. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
