We're partnering with our client in Hayward, CA, who is currently searching for a high-energy, Outside Sales Representative with 1-2 years of sales experience within the food industry! Primary functions include, but are not limited to:
Develop and manage established customers and new customers, by selling company products to achieve sales and profitability goals.
Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, working with the accounting department and client.
Develop new business; identify prospective customers by utilizing market intelligence databases, as well as business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
Perform customer needs analysis, develop solutions, discuss product offerings, create proposals, and negotiate with customers.
Identify, qualify, and visit prospects and customers in the assigned area.
Maintain existing customer accounts and generate new business.
Keep current on product knowledge and the selling process.
Produce accurate and timely forecasts as required by management.
Make in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
React timely to customer problems and needs.
Participate in Sales meetings.
Understand and implement sales plans and price adjustments as directed by management.
Communicate feedback collected on new products and through field activities to appropriate company staff.
Display willingness to learn about new product lines and actively promote and sell them.
Required/Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
1 to 2 years of sales experience in the food industry is required.
Knowledge of MS Office - intermediate knowledge
Class C Driver License required
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities
Competitive spirit and results-driven mentality
Problem-solving ability, organizational and negotiation skills
