Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Vienna, VA.
Job Responsibilities:
Trace Systems is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our Growth team! You will be a part of the team responsible for driving new qualified business opportunities through the business development process in concert with our Solutions, Proposal, Operational, and Functional teams. Your work with these teams will include the development of discriminating win strategies and value propositions from opportunity identification and qualification through RFP release.
Grow and mature the Business Development pipeline by identifying and qualifying opportunities.
Vet opportunities throughout the Business Development Lifecycle (from identification to proposal submission).
Provide bid recommendations based upon research and analysis related to specific opportunities, competitor intelligence, and customer markets to Executives, senior management, and opportunity stakeholders.
Participate in the development and presentation of gate reviews
Proactively monitor government and industry changes, industry days, market research, forecasts, etc.
Gather market intelligence using available tools, including but not limited to GovWin, Sam.gov, industry days, etc.
Analyze new business forecasts to present the most accurate information.
Utilize Salesforce customer relationship management tool to manage, track, and update all Pipeline and Growth activities.
Assist Capture Teams with development of win themes, value propositions, competitive assessments, shaping strategy, teaming strategy, and position-to-win.
Develop and mature relationships with contracting offices and customer stakeholders.
Develop and mature large and small industry partner relationships.
Assign, manage and follow up on team action items to ensure opportunities are progressing through the Business Development process
Minimum Qualifications:
Be able to obtain an, in-scope US Government Secret clearance.
Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
3-4 years of experience in Business Development or Capture Management.
Experience with government contracting.
Strong research and communications skills.
Experience as value-added contributor in a dynamic and geographically dispersed team.
Proficiency utilizing Salesforce CRM system.
Proficiency utilizing GovWin, SAM.Gov, and/or other similar GovCon systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 with emphasis on PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS), and other government portals.
Demonstrated skills in communicating information to and receiving information from both non-technical and technical opportunity stake holders.
Ability to effectively present and communicate with leadership in a manner that conveys confidence and engenders approval.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional capture teams.
Ability to develop and communicate compelling strategies to Senior Leadership.
Proven analytical, reasoning, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to travel to attend meetings and participate in industry events.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project and LinkedIn.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, Management, Information Technology, or related field.
