Wells Fargo is seeking a Loan Closing Manager to manage closing teams located in Charlotte, NC and New York, NY. The Closing Manager will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the closing of complex commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) loans ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements. In this role, you will:
Manage and develop a team of closers within the Real Estate Securitization and Capital Markets (RESCM) closing team
Provide guidance and training to closing team members
Determine appropriate actions of closers for executing tasks related to various processes associated with closing
Enforce adherence to compliance standards, supervisory policies, and procedures within closing
May manage an assigned pipeline of loans and/or assign new loans to other loan team members
Review and approve closers work product prior to loan closing
Processing, closing and compliance for CMBS loan products
Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and tracking of various tasks related to CMBS loan closings
Interpreting policies while analyzing applicant, property and documentation
Ordering all required verifications, documentation and subsequent follow-ups required to close CMBS loans
May act as a liaison between borrowers and legal department.
Identify and recommend opportunities within Closing team for improvements, as well as relevant challenges and weaknesses facing the business
Collaborate with and influence peers and others on complex loan negotiations to ensure loan documents are negotiated in a timely manner and include the necessary provisions to mitigate transaction, legal, operation and credit risk
Work closely with Origination, Underwriting, Legal, Credit, and CMS Operations in closing CMBS loans
Partner with management in the creation and administration of policies and procedures which govern the closing process
Participate in RCSA activities for loan closing
Partner across business and greater CRE organization to remediate issues identified within closing, on behalf of the business
Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of Capital Markets Document Negotiation experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
3+ years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
6+ years of CMBS closing or commercial real estate closing experience
Legal background including, but not limited to, paralegal certificate or Juris Doctor (JD)
Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for commercial real estate lending such as Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with senior executives
Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, information systems and programming
Ability to work in a dynamic and demanding work environment
Dedication to continuing a career in the financial services industry
Job Expectations:
Willingness to work in excess of 40 hours, including evenings
