The Prince William Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center (ADC) is currently looking for a career-minded Maintenance & Operations Specialist who desires to join its team-oriented staff. ABOUT THIS ROLE:
This position is responsible for providing maintenance services and coordinating the daily work activities for assigned staff members. Performs maintenance inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of applicable building structures and/or system, which may include electrical plumbing, telecommunications, HVAC, and/or other applicable items. Estimates the cost of repairs, determines what supplies and equipment is necessary. Prioritizes, assigns work, and provides instruction to maintenance employees to ensure that they are performing their duties according to standard procedures. Performs preventive maintenance activities in assigned area of responsibility to ensure efficient and effective operations. Prepares and maintains logs and records. Performs additional duties as assigned.
POSITION SKILLS:
Maintaining and repairing specialized equipment, prioritizing, and assigning work, operating assigned tools and equipment, organizing, and maintaining records and files, interpreting, and applying applicable laws, codes, regulations, and standards. Must be able to provide customer service, utilizing a computer and relevant software applications, performing routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions, and comprehending reference books and manuals.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver’s license. Must pass local, state, federal background check and polygraph. Must pass pre-employment physical.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
37.5 Full-time Hours * Must be flexible to schedule. On call and responding to emergencies after normal working hours or on weekends*

SALARY:
Starting hourly range $24.82 - $30.45 per hour.

Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, puling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
