Position: Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate
This is a full-time, fixed term position.
The Keck School of Medicine: Institute for Technology and Medical Systems Innovation focuses on the convergence of engineering and medicine in the development and application of neuroprosthetics for novel diagnostics and therapeutics. Dr. Gianluca Lazzi is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate to aid in the institute’s research and projects.
Responsibilities include:
Manage research endeavors, specifically for the grant project
Coordinate all aspects of project implementation, evaluation/analysis, and dissemination of study findings
Synthesize existing data and generate manuscript proposals
Serve as the lab’s main data manager and analyst
Draft comprehensive APA-style results sections, including tables, graphs, and figures
Be active in grant-writing and design of new studies
Provide supervision and mentorship for staff and undergraduate research assistants
Qualifications:
Doctorate in a biology or engineering-related discipline
Prior experience in working in a dry lab
Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral)
Highly developed organizational and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
The annual base salary range for this position is $64,200 - $70,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous five years
Minimum Experience: 0-1 year
Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods
