CNC Lathe Machinist - 2nd shift
A growing and profitable manufacturer for aerospace parts in Simi Valley is looking to hire a CNC Lathe Machinist. This is a second shift position.

Location: Simi Valley Salary: $21.00-29.00/hr (DOE) This is a full time temp-to-hire position Schedule: 2nd shift(3:30pm - 12am), Mandatory overtime on week days, volunteer weekends.
Responsibilities:
Set-up, operate, and adjust CNC Lathe machines
Work from drawings and written instructions to create parts
Make occasional offsets to programs on CNC machines
Responsible for all phases of part operation set-up to achieve first article acceptance
Perform and maintain accurate in-process quality inspection and records.
Identify and recommend process improvements to reduce part quality variation.
Input data into visual management forms and share results to management
Requirements:
At least 3 years experience with operating and set-up on CNC lathes.
Skilled in the use of indicator, gage, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first article and in-process inspection of machined parts
Ability to maintain close tolerances (within .0005”) of ID’s and OD’s, roundness, concentricity, squareness.
Understanding of machine tool accuracies, fixture offsets, and tool offsets.
Knowledge of cutting tool feeds, speeds, and tool life for aerospace hard turning or milling.
Ability to follow verbal instructions and interpret blue print and quality requirements.
Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs (over 25 lbs with assistance).
Ideal candidate will have experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma.
Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder) per ITAR Regulations.
Able to read and interpret CNC programs
Knowledge of various metals and measurements used in the machining process
