Position Summary
Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from the storeroom. Keep records and compile stock reports. Perform clerical work associated with the operation of the Service Authority warehouse.
Position Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions
Plans, organizes, and participates in the work of receiving, storing, and distributing a large and varied stock of equipment, supplies, or parts. Maintains all stock items. Issues supplies to users.
Inspects incoming receipts, inspecting for damage, accuracy of counts and prices. Records and reports all discrepancies.
Prepares and tracks outgoing shipments via UPS or freight companies in accordance with rules established by UPS or the Department of Transportation.
Performs logistical support duties for all special events and training programs for the Authority. These duties include food delivery, room set up, transportation of staff to an event, and other set up duties.
Maintains inventory and control records, including a perpetual inventory and assists with periodic physical inventories. Organizes and rotates stock to achieve optimum efficiency of space.
Arranges for the storage and rotation of all archives. Prepares shipments for pick up via couriers.
Based on a continuing study of needs, determines optimum inventory levels, establishing reorder points. Investigates inventory discrepancies.
Contacts vendors regarding purchases. Inspects incoming parts and supplies for quality and quantity. Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets for all items being stored.
Performs routine maintenance of warehouse.
Participates in yearly physical inventory for main warehouse and other Authority facilities.
Operates forklift and other material handling equipment.
May be deemed essential at any time.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Essential Skills and Experience
Essential Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of modern storeroom and inventory practices; all types of materials and parts required for the municipal operation to which was assigned; applicable standard grades and qualities of equipment, materials, parts, and supplies.
Ability to prepare reports and maintain accurate records.
High school diploma or GED.
Prior knowledge of warehouse stores experience using automated inventory management software.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
One or more years of experience working in a multi-site inventory supply operation filling supply orders received from other sites.
JD Edwards Warehouse Management software.
Special Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license consistent with Service Authority policy requirements.
Valid Forklift Operators Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of appointment.
