The Boeing Company is hiring for Interiors and Payloads Service Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join our Boeing Commercial Airplane division in Seal Beach, CA.
Position Overview:
As a Payloads Service Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in supporting various Boeing Commercial Airplane models, both in-service and under development. This includes the 747, 767, 777, 787, 737NG, 737MAX, 777X, and future generations of commercial aircraft. You'll collaborate directly with airline customers to resolve issues related to Payloads, Interiors, Cargo Handling, and Water Waste systems. Flexibility is essential as you may need to address urgent matters and attend important airline meetings outside regular working hours.
Occasionally, you may also need to work non-standard shifts to support the 24/7/365 operation of the fleet. Additionally, this role involves traveling domestically or internationally around 10% of the time to lead technical and executive review meetings with airlines and tackle complex technical challenges.

Position Responsibilities:

Supports analysis, definition and verification of basic requirements. May modify basic requirements based on defined requirements using approved processes and tools
Supports and/or creates and provides basic technical documentation (e.g. Fleet Team Digest articles, service letters, drawings, specifications, documents, data sets, design folders, test requirements documents, manuals) in accordance with engineering processes and procedures for internal reference or external delivery
Assists with the study and assessment of technology development by gathering data, supporting testing and documenting findings
Supports review of technical design, analysis, and production by reviewing documentation, participating in design reviews, and observing tests and audits to ensure compliance
Assists with the investigation of problems to provide engineering design disposition of discrepancies
Supports the research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer
Assists in designing and/or providing analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service
Works with cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-conformances
Assists in the development of customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment
Work Authorization:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Able and willing to work 2nd shift (24/7/365-day operation. Saturday and Sunday may be required work days)
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally 10% of the time

3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with Interiors and Payloads Systems

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
