Requirements / Qualifications
Copy of a California credential - clear, preliminary or intern permit - in Education Specialist: Mild to Moderate Support Needs (MMSN) or Mild/Moderate with Autism Authorization (AAAS), along with three letters of reference, copies of all test scores and copies of all transcripts including BA degree and all units post BA. Need to have CTEL/CLAD/ELL authorization.
BUSD requirements to be uploaded WITH your Edjoin application: a Letter of Introduction, Resume, 3 letters of Recommendation, Copies of all Transcripts, Copy of Credential, Intern eligibility letter from your University or copies of all materials that you sent to California Commission on Teacher Credentialing if an out-of-state candidate.
Also required for this position, a copy of Autism and CLAD certifications if not embedded in your credential.

The assignment is with primary age students grades TK, K and First.
Contract language of note: 31.3.6
All SDC teachers shall be provided planning time equivalent to the amount of planning time that grade level general education teachers have for the purpose of academic planning and shall choose up to seven full day substitutes per year in order to test, meet with parents write and revise IEP plans, observe students in general education classes, give progress reports, communicate with parents, collect data from teachers regarding each student on caseload, and articulate their programs with general education teachers and related service providers. This is only a partial list of the tasks and duties related to their job that SDC teachers may have to complete during their release day.
