Job Description
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for assisting with internal and external financial reporting activities, including assistance in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports, and account reconciliation and analysis.
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare supporting documentation and analysis for portions of SEC filings (10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, Proxies and Annual Reports), including preparation of footnotes and/or MD&A disclosures.
Analyze and review data submitted by divisions/business units for quarterly consolidated financial reporting, including PP&E and deferred charges (software), intercompany reconciliation and account fluctuation analysis.
Utilize Hyperion Financial Management system to support external and internal reporting requirements.
Interact with internal and external auditors and provide them supporting documentation for financial statements and footnote disclosures, and respond to their inquiries.
Lead process to record and reconcile goodwill and intangible assets.
Support annual asset retirement obligation process, including coordination with outside valuation specialists.
Support the preparation of the annual financial statements of the Employee Savings Plan filed on Form 11-K.
Assist in special projects such as acquisition support, technical research, and government reporting.
Support various SOX activities, including preparation of risk assessment, walkthroughs and testing for select sites.
Perform quality control review of select in-scope SOX sites.
Assist in the administration of the SOX database and provide guidance to users.
Support other annual government survey reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
4+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or financial reporting
Public accounting experience preferred
CPA or candidate for CPA
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word)
Strong organization/time management skills, attention to details
Strong analytical skills
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment meeting deadline requirements often with multiple deliverables to different reviewers
Excellent verbal and writing skills
