Sales Engineer - Commercial Pumps and Controllers - Base Salary to 90k/year - Washington, DC
Founded over 40 years ago, our client in the Commercial Pumps, Controllers, Water Filtration and Preventative Maintenance space provides solutions for existing buildings and new construction. They are experiencing tremendous growth and looking to double their revenue within the next 5 years!
They are currently looking to hire a Sales Engineer (internally titled Engineering Sales Representative) to join their team. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for new business development as well as handling existing clients (there are a couple people on the team nearing retirement so this person will handle a lot of existing business).
Responsibilities:
Call on Design Engineers to secure projects with basis-of-design status
Conduct lunch-and-learn presentations for engineering firms to educate Engineers on products, capabilities, and ROI
Outside sales calling on key decision makers 3-4 days per week (work from your home office the other time to handle any administrative work necessary)
Attend networking events and participate in industry organizations
Work with the service team internally to ensure the customers are receiving proper care, and coordinate with the estimating team for pricing and selections
Engage, communicate and present proposals to potential clients, and close the sale
Qualifications:
Recent graduate with a Degree in Engineering with sales experience or 2+ years working as a Consulting Engineer or 3+ years experience selling engineering products (prefer experience within mechanical, plumbing or electrical)
Reside within a 50-mile radius of Washington, DC or VA
Possess a strong mechanical aptitude and interest in plumbing systems
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and experience with a CRM system
Compensation:
Base salary in the 75k – 90k/year range plus commission
Company vehicle with insurance 100% paid and gas (as well as oil changes, car washes)
