Engineering Technician V - Position Description
ICI Services is looking for a motivated individual who wants to join our team in support of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division, Port Hueneme, CA. We are a mid-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Services, and Technical Services to government clients in 14 states and the District of Columbia. Security Clearance:
Active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET personnel security clearance or ability to obtain clearance
Responsibilities:
performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope.
select and adapt plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contact personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, review, analyze, and integrate the technical work of others.
Responsible for maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
develop designs for equipment without critical performance requirements that are difficult to satisfy such as engine parts, research instruments, or special purpose circuitry.
Analyze technical data to determine applicability to design problems; select from several possible design layouts; calculate design data; and prepare layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc.
May check and analyze drawings or equipment to determine adequacy of drawings and design.
Maintain effective customer communications and relations.
conduct tests or experiments; analyze results and redesign or modify equipment to improve performance; and report results.
Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to component level using conventional engineering practices, and repairs or returns for repair.
Refurbish Fleet return equipment.
May be required to train, manage and oversee small repair or maintenance teams.
Experience Requirements:
3 – 5 years of experience repairing US Navy or Military Sealift Command ships deck Hull, Machinery and Electrical equipment.
Experience with inport or underway machinery evaluations a plus.
Experience with Underway Replenishment equipment is preferred.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
