Job Overview
The Program Manager is solely responsible for daily administration of the Center, personnel and application management, and conference and symposium management. including the Visiting Scholars Program, Visiting Fellows Program, Originalism Summer Seminar, Salmon Chase Distinguished Lecture and Faculty Colloquium, Thomas Cooley Judicial Lecture, Book Prize, and Faculty Symposium, Bradley Fellows Program, our Student Fellows Program, as well as other co-sponsored events.
They also convert symposium papers to a format suitable to be published as an ebook.
Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation
Reporting directly to the Program Director, the Program Manager assists in the financial, administrative, and day-to-day management duties, as well as with special projects for the Center’s faculty leadership.
This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such review may necessitate a change to a position’s mode of work designation. Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Admission into the JD program
- Outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to effectively serve diverse personalities, maintain poise and professional demeanor
- Ability to apply diplomacy and tact, sound judgment and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information in what can be a high-pressured environment
- Familiarity with web design software and the development of web pages - and the ability assist in the updating and upkeep of Center web pages
- Ability to design and create PowerPoint presentations and assist with their presentation as needed.
- Ability to learn how to convert documents to form suitable for ebook publication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, willingness and ability to learn university software, and familiarity with laser printers, fax machines, and photocopiers
- Willingness to acquire basic proficiency in handling WordPerfect documents
Preferred Qualification
3 to 4 years progressive administrative and project management experience, editing and proofreading skills
