Purpose of Announcement
EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO ESTABLISH AN EMPLOYMENT LIST TO FILL ONE (1) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE WATER DEPARTMENT AND FUTURE VACANCIES AS THEY OCCUR.

This position is responsible for analysis of environmental samples for inorganic chemicals and trace metals using a gas chromatorgraph, atomic absorption spectophotomer, total organic card analyzer, ion chromatograph, filter phometer, tubidmeter, pH meter and other professional laboratory equipment. Employee will also be responsible for analyzing performance evaluation unknowns within acceptable range and meet all other requirements of State laboratory certification. This position operates a parish vehicle for sample collection, responding to customer complaints or for other purposes as required. Position requires driving of a Parish vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record will be given preference.
Minimum Qualifications For Admission to Examination
Possession of an accredited Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or closely related.
Related education, experience, and/or professional certification(s) above and beyond the minimum qualifications will be required for consideration of an entrance salary above the minimum rate.

(ENTRANCE AND PROMOTIONAL)
This examination will consist of a rating of training and experience, weighted 100%.
