Essential Functions
Directly oversees staff members, and is responsible for ensuring their work output is satisfactory and their concerns are resolved. Is responsible for all hiring and related personnel decisions, completing routine performance review evaluations, training, scheduling, team development and the like.
Manages the decontamination, sterilization, storage, and limited distribution of patient care supplies and equipment for entity operations regarding Sterile Processing.
Establishes related policy/procedure according to industry regulations.
Manages the department’s inventory control practices and allocates resources effectively.
Responsible for developing and managing sizable budget.
Monitors, updates and in-services department personnel on CSIQ system.
Educates nursing and clinical personnel on cleaning, packaging and sterilization of re-usable instrumentation and patient care equipment.
Initiates and maintains positive relationships with staff, management, patients, co-workers and customers.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree required.
In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, must have 8 years’ experience in related field, including their previous Supervisory experience.
Work Experience
5 years of successful and progressive experience in inventory management, sterile processing, instrument management, and/or case cart make-up Required and
Supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership ability Required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability. Required
Notable client service, communication, presentation and relationship building skills. Required
Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. Required
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills Required
Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e., printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.). Required
Must have working knowledge of all equipment in Central Sterile Processing (i.e. case carts, steam & ETO sterilizers, washer/sterilizers, cart washer, sonic cleaner, computer, surgical instruments etc.). Required
Additional Licenses and Certifications
Must possess at least one (1) of the following certifications through HSPA or CBSPD Required and
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech (CSPDT) Required and
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Required
