The City Manager’s Office provides oversight and direction to ensure that all City departments are responding to City Council goals, keeping up-to-date on the changing needs of the community, and planning the services, programs, and projects that will ensure the City is a great community in which to live, work, and play.
The City Manager’s Office is responsible for the following functions within the City: Cable Television, Citizen Assistance, Community Relations, Economic Development, Land Management, Emergency Preparedness, Employee Relations, Legislative Affairs, Special Events Review, and Torrance Strategic Plan.
The Position
The City of Torrance's Risk Management division is seeking a unique individual to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment within the public sector. The successful candidate will be highly organized, value responsiveness and customer service, and have a proven track record in Risk Management.
This position is a key part of our team. It reports directly to the Risk Manager and works collaboratively across the organization to meet the needs of all departments. Under the supervision of the Risk Manager, this position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and administering a comprehensive safety management program for the City; conducting field audits, investigations, job safety analyses, safety training programs and meetings in compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations.

Panel Interview: Weighted 100% (Tentatively scheduled on July, 16 2024)
Special Requirements: The essential duties of this classification may require the ability to stoop; to reach; to stand, to walk and sit for extended periods of time; to push and/or pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
