Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant who will report to the Cost Accounting Supervisor based in Taneytown, MD. In this role you will support a local accounting/finance structure, working directly within the operations and assisting with other factories as needed.
This is a hybrid role (3 days at the facility, 2 days remote)
Responsibilities:
- Month end reporting
- Perform month end close for Inventory / Cycle Counting / Scrap Reporting
- Project accounting
- Sales and margin analysis
- Processing month end journals and accruals including OSMI, Deferred Revenue, and others as assigned
- Run and reconcile Backlog
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Daily processing of the shipments in Symix
- Backup to Standard Cost Roll process
- Data analysis for cost and manufacturing within the business
- Become and stay current with all company policies, accounting and relevant Corporate policies
- Other duties assigned
Requirements:
- BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Cost Accounting experience within the manufacturing industry
- Experience working with the Project Management team managing projects and costs
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office with an emphasis in Excel
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Clear and concise communications skills
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Ability to challenge the norm and look for better solutions/processes, attention to detail
- Systems knowledge: Oracle, BPC, SAP?will be beneficial. Ability to learn local ERP system- Symix
