Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 20 or more direct reports of facility-based UM Care Advocates to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with DMHC regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to UM
- Develop and implement UM strategies to maximize quality of care
- Monitor and analyze data re: UM metrics to identify trends and opportunities for optimization
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline and enhance processes and communication
- Meet with direct reports for monthly 1:1
- Lead weekly team meetings to provide workflow updates, training on new processes, and to promote engagement
- Participate in leadership meetings, workgroups, manager meetings and MD Collaboration meetings
- Shared responsibility with Team Lead to complete monthly call audits for direct reports

Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling OR Licensed Ph.D. / PsyD, or an RN with psychiatric experience
Independently licensed to practice in California - 5+ years of experience in a related mental health environment
- 2+ years of experience as Team Lead or Supervisor
- Demonstrated proficient level of experience with MS Word and Excel, with the ability to type and navigate a Windows environment, ability to multi-task
- California resident (Non-California residents may be considered on an exception basis only)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse
- Experience working in an environment that requires coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple groups and resources for patients
- Experience with Utilization Management and/or a call center environment
- Experience in a MCO (Managed Care environment)
- Experience supervising a fully remote team
- Experience working in a fast- paced environment
- Solid PowerPoint skills
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
