The Vice President, Environmental Claims will provide oversight of NARS, the Third-Party Administrator handling claims on the FEI environmental program to ensure it is adhering to the TPA Guidelines promulgated by BCIM. In addition, provide oversight with certain claims managed by Third-Party Administrator, Sedgwick, on the FEI environmental program. Key functions will include but are not limited to:

• Review and approve ICAs.
• Provide comments and giving instructions to the adjuster regarding the ICA.
• Approving reserves and payments within his $100,000 authority.
• Determining whether the policyholder has coverage under the circumstances of the claim.
• Provide the best course of action to take in bring a claim to its proper conclusion.
• Adherence to best practices and applicable claims handling rules and regulations through file review and audits.
• Timely and accurate adherence to appropriate reporting/escalation requirements.
• Partner with program administrator as appropriate to discuss issues, claims, and additional updates.
• Collaborate with underwriting manager regarding claim specific issues, trends, and other areas of interest.
• LLN preparation and presentation with the executive team.
• Preparation of Reinsurance Summaries.
• Attending mediations when necessary.
• Lead weekly meetings with NARS.
• Perform quarterly file audits/reviews and discuss results with NARS.
• Control and manage ALAE, including ensuring appropriate counsel are assigned and analyzing expense spend.
• Maintain adjuster licenses in all required jurisdictions, including required CE.
• Rigorous ALAE control and management.

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Juris Doctor with litigation experience required.
• Significant technical claims handling experience on primary claims under CGL policies, claims handling experience on environmental coverages including environmental impairment, contractors’ pollution liability, and professional liability coverage preferred.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of coverage, claims handling/investigation and evaluation, including liability and damage analyses with a focus on developing/executing resolution strategies and appropriate use and control of counsel/experts.
• Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to incorporate analytical data analysis into oversight.
• Proper adjuster licensing in all applicable states preferred.
• Excellent experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
