We are looking for a full time Injury Prevention Specialist tojoin the amazing team at our Employer Health Center located in Ontario, CA. Position will require travel to Torrance site as needed.
Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 8a-8p
Essential Functions:
- PerformPhysical Demand Analyses including raw data collection, use of measurementtools, video analysis for specific job demands, and overall report review toidentify high-risk work areas.
- Communicateregularly with onsite PH Medical Team and Client Safety Team regardingworkplace countermeasures and injury prevention strategies.
- Attendmeetings and serve on task forces as deemed necessary.
- Providerecommended guidelines for correcting limitations in flexibility, strength andgeneral conditioning to prevent injury and support overall wellness for clientmembers.
- Provideclient follow-up and make recommendations for work performance based onknowledge in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and ergonomic principles.
- Developand lead group and individual training sessions focusing on functional movementpatterns, specific job simulations, and educational programs for occupationalhealth/ safety. (Stretching programs, Lift Labs, etc)
- Educateand observe essential functions and movement patterns related to appropriateearly symptom management techniques for minor musculoskeletal discomfort.Follow-up with client members to ensure early symptom recognition and injuryprevention.
- Performinjury/musculoskeletal screening and assessment, covering such areas as (butnot limited to) history, observation, palpation, range of motion, and musclestrength to assist in determination of red flags and next steps regardingcare.
- Providebasic first aid in alignment with OSHA first aid standards to assist inprevention of recordable incidences for clients.
- Carecoordination and communication with on-site medical providers.
- Performadministrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, andappropriate EMR documentation, etc. in a timely manner.
- Mayrequire other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’sDegree in Health Sciences (Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Exercise Science,Athletic Training, Exercise Physiology) from accredited college or universityor equivalent experience preferred.
- Currenthands-on training in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers isrequired.
- Currenthands-on training in AHA or ARC First Aid is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experiencein Health/ Fitness Industry; Experience in Occupational Health and Safety;Knowledge of current OSHA regulations preferred
- Experiencein Ergonomics preferred
