Purpose:
Perform structural design work from conceptual design through to detailed design of oil and gas projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare structural design 2D drawings using MicroStation and 3D models using S3D based on engineering information, site data and Customer requirements for:
- Structural general arrangement.
- Structural pipe supports, pipe racks, platforms, buildings, and equipment foundation and supports, etc.
- Prepare structural Material Take-offs.
- Provide technical support to the project team.
- Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations to support official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc.
- Coordinate with structural engineering team and gather information from other disciplines, with knowledge of the impact of other disciplines design data on structural design.
- Seeks input from knowledgeable sources, considers constructability, operability, and maintainability into design.
- Other responsibilities include preparing as-built drawings, design and detailing new components from previous designs.
- Work with Global integrated team (GID).
Minimum Tasks:
- Create 3D model using S3D to Client Specifications.
- Complete Modeling Checklists.
- Run MTO/Weight reports for Structures in an area.
- Develop 2D Drawings using MicroStation.
- Develop all necessary drawings details to ensure complete fabrication.
- Complete Checklists.
- Ensure drawings incorporate all engineering review comments.
- Ensure drawings incorporate all client review comments.
- Ensure all drawing attributes are set.
What you will bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas Industry with experience in design and retrofit of Facilities and Chemical Plants.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other designers and engineers to achieve optimal drawing product.
- Successful candidates will be self-starters with an aptitude for problem solving and innovation and the ability to work independently or as a member of a team. You must be capable of working with a team within a major project.
- Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.
Additional Information:
- This role is an in-office work in Monrovia California.
- Salary Hourly Range $45.29-$66.61.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
B.S. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field and/or equivalent 5 year experience in structural design.
Preferred:
- S3D preferred.
- Training in MicroStation.
- Oil & Gas Industry with experience in design and retrofit of Facilities and Chemical Plants.
- Saudi Aramco experience.
