Job Functions
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serves as office receptionist; greets visitors, answers telephone calls, and provides information, refers caller to appropriate staff and/or takes messages
Provides clerical support to the Command staff, including management of calendars;
Prepares correspondence, forms, letters, reports, and other documents
Prepares presentation materials as requested
Establishes and maintains various department files;
Copies, faxes, and distributes materials as requested; prepares outgoing mail
Maintains various office spreadsheets, and documents;
Obtains and/or retrieves information from other departments or agencies as requested
Assists with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests;
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Orders office supplies and makes routine purchases of other materials and supplies as requested
Performs related duties as required
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Education equivalent to a high school diploma. Experience with FOIA and administrative/clerical support, required.
Special Qualifications: Must possess satisfactory results of a criminal history background check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to use various office equipment and computer software
Excellent typing and computer skills
Ability to maintain a high standard of accuracy when performing duties
Plan and organize daily work, and establish priorities for the completion of work, and avoids duplication of effort Ability to use computers and computer aided technology (software/hardware/peripheral items)
Ability to prepare accurate and complete reports
Ability to maintain confidentiality of Sheriff’s Office records
Ability to maintain and/or develop working relationships with Sheriff’s Officer personnel, other local and State law enforcement agencies
Must have the ability to evaluate situations, based on training/experience and policy/procedures, and make good decisions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as light. Must be able to lift 5-10 pounds. Must be able to operate office and computer equipment. May involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Must be able to communicate orally and perceive and discriminate colors or shades of color.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Essential functions are regularly performed in an office setting without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
