Position Objective:
The manager will be accountable for the delivery of oncology nursing care in the Institute to include the ambulatory cancer centers including, infusion, radiation, navigation and cancer prevention. The manager is a key member of the Cancer Services leadership team; the manager will be responsible for providing nursing leadership to achieve clinical and fiscal goals for all nursing activities of the program. The manager will be accountable to the Cancer Service Lines Chair of Oncology and Vice President Cancer Services. This manager will require integration and collaboration throughout the system with leadership and staff in the Hospital, the DeCesaris Cancer Institute, Health Care Enterprises and Physician Enterprise to achieve high quality ambulatory oncology nursing outcomes

- Directs the nursing staff, ensuring the highest quality standards, cost-effective staffing and clinic functions to achieve positive patient and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborates with the leadership team to develop annual oncology nursing goals and implement actions to achieve outcomes.
- Develops nursing competencies, standards, policies, and procedures to achieve clinical and quality outcomes consistent with ASCO/ONS guidelines and other internal and external regulatory agencies.
- Develops the nursing scorecard consistent with the AAMC and DCI AOP and Magnet setting benchmarks and metrics to measure, analyze and achieve nursing outcomes.
- Continuously evaluates and defines the nursing quality program in collaboration with the CNO and DCI leadership to achieve standards of Magnet, Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) ASCO/ONS, and nursing standards of the ACOS CoC.
- Designs programs and actively participates in community outreach with the DCI Cancer Prevention team to increase knowledge of cancer practices and principles, and promote cancer prevention and wellness in the community and region.
- Supports the efforts of the research team to achieve research goals through the development of effective processes and provides oversight to ensure nursing compliance with research standards and policy.
- Participates in nursing and clinical research activities, scholarly works and publishes.
- Responds to all nursing RL6, HARMS, ASCO/ONS, JC or quality deviations in care and plans appropriate actions.
- Supports the nursing activities for Quality Oncology Practice Initiative Program (QOPI) to achieve standards collaborating with Physician leadership.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Nursing with 3 or more years in oncology ambulatory or hospital based settings and minimum of one year in a leadership role. Masters preferred
